Oromia Tourism Week is a week-long annual event that seeks to recognize and inspire hospitality and tourism players to strive toward promoting domestic, regional, and continental tourism excellence in customer experience. Additionally, Oromia Tourism Week is an annual event dedicated to celebrating and promoting the diverse tourism attractions, cultural heritage, and natural beauty of the Oromia Region. The annual event that will be held in between September 26 -28, 2023 in Ethiopian Skylight Hotel. The event features a variety of programs and activities designed to showcase the region’s cultural heritage, natural beauty, and tourism potential.

Beside, promoting the tourism industry in the region and raising awareness about its cultural & Naural heritage the Region, The Event create a business connection platform for tourism service and promoting new tourism-based products. Beyond that, this event has a huge impact on promoting Oromia’s best tourist destinations and creating sustainable tourism development in the region.

The program aims to encourage stakeholder participation and engagement with the sector, with the ultimate goal of using the event as a gateway towards creating sustainable tourism development in the region.

                                                                                                                     

The Oromia Tourism Commission (OTC) Host this annual event aiming to promoting tourism in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. The event features a range of activities and a variety of programs, including  Tourism Exhibitions, cultural performances & showcasing of cultural fashion industry actors, Tourism Seminars and Panel Discussion as an input for Sustainable Tourism deevelopment, Tourism Investment Seminar, Sustainable Tourism sector initiatives, crowning of Miss Tourism Oromia, and Oromia Tourism Awards, Business Networking and public Engagements. The primary objective of the event is to showcase the region’s unique cultural heritage and natural beauty to both domestic and international tourism Industry.

The event will involve selecting a representative ambassador, “Miss Tourism Oromia,” who will actively participate in various tourism-related activities and events to promote Oromia as a prime tourist destination. The pageant will be open to young women from the Oromia region, and contestants will be judged not only based on their beauty but also their knowledge of Oromia’s tourism offerings and their passion for sustainable tourism development.

 

  1. Oromia Tourism Award:

            The Oromia Tourism Award is designed to recognize and appreciate individuals, businesses, and organizations that have significantly contributed to the growth and development of tourism in Oromia. The award ceremony will be a prestigious event where outstanding achievements and innovations in the tourism industry will be celebrated. Categories may include “Best Eco-Tourism Initiative,” “Outstanding Hospitality Services,” “Most Innovative Tour Package,” and more. Nominations and evaluations will be conducted impartially by a panel of judges.

 

  1. Tourism Exhibition:

This hackathon will focus on sustainable tourism practices, digital solutions for promoting tourist destinations, and leveraging technology for enhancing the overall tourism experience. Mentors and industry experts will guide the participants throughout the hackathon.

 

 

 

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR EVENT ORGANIZER 

Introduction: Oromia Tourism Commission invites qualified event organizers to submit proposals for the planning, coordination, and execution of the “Oromia Tourism Week” event. The event is scheduled to take place from September 23 to 25, 2023, at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel. The objective of the event is to promote Oromia’s tourism potential, showcase its cultural richness, and foster networking opportunities within the tourism industry.

Scope of Services: The selected event organizer will be responsible for the following services:

  1. Event Planning:
    • Develop a comprehensive event plan outlining logistics, schedules, and resources required for the Oromia Tourism Week.
    • Collaborate with Oromia Tourism Commission to define event goals, themes, and target audience.
  2. Venue and Vendor Management:
    • Source and secure Ethiopian Skylight Hotel as the event venue, ensuring it meets the requirements of the Oromia Tourism Week.
    • Manage relationships with vendors, including catering, audio-visual services, decorations, and other essential providers.
    • Negotiate vendor contracts and ensure seamless coordination.
  3. Marketing and Promotion:
    • Devise a strategic marketing plan to promote the Oromia Tourism Week and attract relevant stakeholders and participants.
    • Create promotional materials such as banners, flyers, and digital content.
    • Execute online and offline promotion campaigns, including social media, email marketing, and press releases.
  4. Registration and Attendee Management:

        The Program

        Oromia Tourism Commission is looking for an event organizer for the upcoming “Irreecha Week” and “Tourism Award and Miss Tourism” taking place from September 28 to September 29, 2022 at the Skylight Hotel.  

        Job brief

        We are seeking a creative, highly organized event “Event Organizer” to help us execute unforgettable events that generate brand awareness with our brand VISIT OROMIA, be responsible for conceptualizing ideas for the events, communicating with clients, and ultimately ensuring that each event is flawlessly executed.

        Duties and responsibilities

        1. Professional Graphics design, Banner, Brochure, Registration Booth, entrance get cut out, photo booth cut out flyer, rollup, carpet and other printed materials design and production.
        1. Design a layout of the event; create event guides, pamphlets, and any other marketing activities to promote the event traditionally or digitally with the assistance of PR professionals or marketing executives.
        1. Communicate with OTC to understand their wants, needs, and special requests for the event
        1. Supply rental LED specified by the client and supporting materials. This includes the facilitator will provide a screen operator and vector videos and provide possible setup options or screen layout for the screen
        1. Hire key professionals and volunteers and manage staff, as well as special guest appearances and any other suitable entertainer for the event.
        1. Perform other related duties as may be assigned or requested by clients
        1. Professional LED Screen operator. The operator must be able to work throughout the day.
        1. Provide Illusion or Vector videos to be displayed on the LED at air time or open time.
        1. A very high-quality sound system that can integrate with the sound system of the venue
        1. A well-trained sound system operator or sound engineer
        1. A beautifully, well-decorated, and extraordinary stage design. Including stage truss with metal.
        1. Providing at least two Instrumental performers, Instrumental music, and Music Band as per the client’s interest or recommendation.
        1. Design and carry out decor. This consists of designing a décor throughout the venue all the way from the entrance to exit.
        1. Undertake and perform the video production of the event and documentation
        1. Broadcast the event live feed on the provided LED screen when needed.
        1. Live Graphics design or Online graphics at the time of the event when needed.
        1. The company has to cover the cost for all the labor cost for moving and packing kinds of stuff
        1. Managing all maintenance and repairs of the materials, equipment, and facilities.
        1. Work with and give guidance to volunteers, hired companies, and OTC staff involved in the event planning and execution.
